Like many parents raising children away from where we grew up, we wanted our children to grow up speaking Urdu with the same joy and confidence that they spoke English.
But as we searched, we realized something was missing. There were plenty of wonderful educational resources in English, but very little in Urdu that felt modern, engaging, and relevant for children growing up abroad.
So we decided to create the resources we wished we'd had.
Everything we create is designed around one simple idea: make learning Urdu fun and easy for families to teach it.
- Made for the whole family. Every resource includes Urdu script, English transliteration, and English meaning, so even a parent, or caregiver who doesn't speak Urdu can confidently learn alongside a child.
- Designed for little learners. Created for children aged 2–6, with simple language, warm illustrations, and gentle repetition—because children learn through stories they love.
- Rooted in culture. From Eid celebrations, yummy mangoes and everyday family moments, our stories help children connect with the language and culture through the traditions they see at home.
More than teaching words, we hope to help children feel proud of their heritage, build stronger connections with family, and stay connected to the culture that shaped us. We want them to be excited to speak with their grandparents, to visit their cousins "back home," and to carry these traditions forward for generations to come.
Today we're creating flashcards and storybooks. Tomorrow, with your support, we hope to build the "Ms. Rachel for Urdu"—a joyful world of songs, stories, videos, and interactive learning that children genuinely ask to watch.
